n the new economy, self-employment is the trend. Payroll has become too expensive. Companies prefer to outsource jobs instead of taking the responsibility to support their own employees. At the first sight, this is bad news for many of us. Going on their own is scary for most people. They just aren’t prepared for such a radical change. Most of them simply don’t know what to do to adapt.
We were used to depending on others for our well being. In exchange for our skills and (hard) work we got everything we needed and felt secure for someone who was taking care of us. That’s what we’ve been living for years. And looked normal. Though most of us hated our 9 to 5 jobs, hated our bosses and hated the fact that someone was stealing our time, we assumed everything for the sake of security. Now, the ‘master’ decided to release the ‘slave’ and redeem her freedom. But, instead of being happy to get their freedom back, people are scared of death and don’t know what to do with their new state. Now they have the opportunity to live their life as they wished to. They have only one step toward accomplishing their dream yet they don’t know how to proceed. And most of them are desperate. It is not easy to take responsibility, but desperation isn’t away. It leads nowhere. So, what to do? First of all, you have to accept this new reality and realize that things won’t ever be like they used to be. Secondly, you have to be prepared to re-learn a lot of old things and learn a lot of new things. Being open-minded and ready to absorb new knowledge will put you in a state of attracting new opportunities to grow and overpass your poor condition. And thirdly, you have to change your mindset. You have to assume the whole responsibility for your life and stop waiting for others to give you a solution. You have to understand that you’re the only one able to make (good) things happen in your life.
